Remarkable Women of Liberty

The town of Liberty, Missouri, has flourished from its beginnings in 1822.  Historical accounts are filled with stories of the strong-willed, determined individuals who founded this town and those who furthered its success over the years.  This book profiles thirty-three women, some of whose contributions are not widely known, but many firsts and many achievements can be attributed to them.  These women were remarkable because they challenged the status quo and acted beyond expectations, making marks in their respective fields.  They did extraordinary things, sometimes without fanfare or recognition.  All the women in this book have passed on, but they left lasting legacies that helped shape the Liberty community.  They lived beyond their times, and their stories are worth telling.
