Steve was born in Belton, Missouri and came to Clay County before he was one year old.  He lived in Claycomo and started school at Munger.  Later he moved to what would become Gladstone and began attending Englewood School starting in the second grade.  He graduated from North Kansas City High School.

He worked at AT&T mainly in computers until early retirement and then came to volunteer at the Archives with his wife, Carol.

Steve volunteers on Wednesdays and currently serves as a director on the board.
